Heaven The Dog (Abused & Wounded)
from bro.dj on 11/21/2013 06:07 AMA 7-month-old pit bull named Heaven was brought to the Shrewsbury Animal Hospital in Tinton Falls, New Jersey Wednesday by its owner, 19-year-old Asbury Park resident Tyshon Taylor.
The dog was near death.
Heaven was malnourished and had a severe skin condition with burn marks, some possibly caused by cigarettes, as well as other injuries. It had been living in a basement and drinking orange-colored water.
Dr. Meridith Orr was shocked at the terrible condition of the dog and called Chief Victor "Buddy" Amato of the Monmouth County SPCA. Amato isn't sure if the dog is going to survive.
"What happened to the dog is disgusting. The dog's name is Heaven, but it looks like it's been living in the wrong place." ~ Amato
Taylor; his mother, Amanda Boyd; and his grandmother, Norma Manuel, have all been charged with four counts of animal cruelty and were arrested at their home on Mattison Avenue today. Taylor, being the primary owner, was held in Monmouth County Jail on a bail of $15,000 with no 10 percent option.
A court date has been set for November 22 and they could see up to six months in jail, which would increase if Heaven does not survive.
